Some Wicked PC’s and an Update

Update first, after taking some friends on a tour of the place last night, I had the “DOOOOYYYYY!” moment of why Rach was insisting on the long room as the guest room.  It is right next to the guest bath.  Doesn’t make sense to locate it so far down the hall from the bedroom.  Oh well, the other room is better for centralizing my AV gear anyway, so no big loss.

No on to bigger and better things.  I love all things mid-century modern, art-deco and arts-and-crafts (the movement, not the macaroni necklace class).  Check out what this guy has done:

I wish I had the time/tools/money/skills to pull something like that off.  Hopefully I’ll be able to steal a few elements from his designs to work into future projects, especially the theater.  I am really going for an elegant yesteryear sort of feel without getting to far into the whole hollywood style.  I like things that are quality due to good craftsmanship.  I don’t like overly ornate psuedo-Roccoco style gilded crap you see too often in design these days.  The true craftsman should highlight the materials, when high-quality materials are used.  When they are not, the craftsman should provide an illusion that they are.  The guy at the link above really has that down.
